RCC Chiropractic Practice Standard: Quality Improvement

The Royal College of Chiropractors launched a consultation on its draft Chiropractic Practice Standard on Quality Improvement in a chiropractic care setting which aims to assist chiropractors to achieve those standards.

With its consultation, the RCC wished to obtain views on the following questions:

  • Have they identified all the relevant requirements of chiropractors in the context of quality improvement?
  • Do the expected standards of practice reflect good practice and has the RCC included the appropriate evidence to support them? Is anything missing?
  • Should any additional guidance be included?
  • Are RCC's statements clearly expressed such that chiropractors, other health professionals, health & care organisations, commissioners, patients and public can reasonably be expected to understand what we mean?

The BCA coordinated feedback and submitted the formal consultation feedback document. Our comments considered:

  • Data Collection & Measurement: How data is gathered, what metrics are used, and ensuring accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Clarity & Understanding: How information is presented to ensure it's easily understood, particularly by non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration & Integration: The extent to which the document addresses teamwork and coordination with other professionals.
  • Service Improvement & Responsiveness: How the document guides actions based on feedback and addresses service gaps.
  • Formatting/Presentation: The technical aspects of the document's presentation, such as punctuation and capitalisation.

The final document will be published on the RCC’s website
